About Wanaka
Wanaka, on the shore of its namesake lake in New Zealand's Southern Alps, is the base for two of the country's finest ski fields - Treble Cone and Cardrona. Treble Cone, the largest area in the Southern Lakes, is famed for its long, steep Saddle Basin, the Motatapu Chutes and sweeping views over Lake Wanaka, while nearby Cardrona offers wide groomers, sunny basins and world-class terrain parks. Spanning roughly 1200 m to 2088 m, the region serves every level during the southern winter, with ski schools, rentals, cafes and easy access from the relaxed lakeside town.
