About Mammoth Lakes
Mammoth Lakes, the town beneath Mammoth Mountain in California's Eastern Sierra, is one of the largest and highest ski resorts in the United States, rising to about 3369 m (11,053 ft) on a volcanic peak. Around 3,500 acres of terrain and roughly 150 trails combine heavy Pacific snowfall with abundant sunshine and one of North America's longest seasons, often lasting into summer. From wide groomed cruisers and big beginner zones to the famous Cornice Bowl and steep chutes off the top, plus huge terrain parks and a lively town, it suits every level.
