About Gstaad
Gstaad, a chic car-restricted village at about 1050 m in the Saanenland of the Bernese Oberland, anchors a far-flung ski region of around 200 km of pistes spread across sectors such as Wispile, Eggli, Wasserngrat, the Rinderberg above Saanenmöser and the snow-sure Glacier 3000 near Les Diablerets. Famous for its promenade, luxury hotels and a celebrity following, it offers mostly gentle, sunny, tree-lined cruising ideal for families and intermediates, plus high-altitude glacier runs and some steeper terrain. Ski schools, rentals, a snowpark, mountain restaurants and a free regional ski bus complete a relaxed, upmarket experience.
