About Wengen
Wengen, a car-free village on a sunny terrace at about 1274 m in the Bernese Oberland, sits beneath the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and forms part of the Jungfrau Ski Region around Kleine Scheidegg, Männlichen and Grindelwald - some 110 km of pistes in the Grindelwald-Wengen sector. Reached only by the historic Wengernalp cog railway, it is home to the legendary Lauberhorn, the world's longest World Cup downhill. Mostly gentle, scenic cruising amid spectacular peaks suits families and intermediates, with a few classic steeper runs, ski schools, rentals, mountain restaurants and timeless Alpine charm.
