About Lillehammer
Lillehammer, the host of the 1994 Winter Olympics on the shores of Lake Mjøsa, is the gateway to some of Norway's best-known alpine skiing, above all nearby Hafjell - the Olympic alpine venue - with around 40 km of pistes rising to about 1050 m. The wider region also includes the Kvitfjell downhill course and extensive cross-country trails. Reliable cold-climate snow, modern lifts, wide tree-lined runs, terrain parks, family slopes, ski schools, rentals and mountain restaurants combine with a lively Olympic town to make it a leading Scandinavian winter destination.
